Job summary

  • At least four years of experience as a Quality Engineer or Warranty Engineer.
  • Experience in the automotive or auto parts manufacturing industry is required.

Responsibilities

  • Execute warranty management processes including claim data analysis, debit management, contract review, part return analysis, and lessons learned implementation.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to reduce warranty claims by improving products and processes.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for warranty-related matters and support CQI-14 improvements.
  • Collaborate with global data analytics for warranty claim data acquisition and analysis.
  • Review data with cross-functional teams and address findings to ensure timely closure.
  • Prepare analyses and reporting for stakeholders and act as lead warranty contact for debits.
  • Resolve debit discrepancies and coordinate with accounting, quality, and plant management.
  • Manage warranty part return processes and coordinate field retrievals.
  • Provide past data and lessons learned for warranty term dispositions.
  • Lead establishment of technical factors for assigned customer portfolio and monitor corrective actions.
  • Participate in design reviews for relevant programs.

Responsibilities
  • Execute warranty management processes including claim data analysis, debit management, contract review, part return analysis, and lessons learned implementation for ride performance business accounts.
  • Lead cross-functional team members in the effective and timely execution of core processes to reduce warranty claims by improving products and processes.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for warranty-related matters and support development of initiatives for satisfactory compliance and continual improvement of CQI – 14 requirements.
  • Work with global warranty data analytics team to ensure the acquisition, analysis, and management of warranty claim data; analyze warranty data and identify contributors to warranty claims.
  • Review data with cross-functional team members to address findings from claim data analysis and manage items to timely closure, statistically validating the effectiveness of countermeasures.
  • Prepare analyses and reporting outs for stakeholders; serve as lead warranty contact for warranty debits and obtain, screen, and provide disposition of warranty debits.
  • Lead resolution of debit discrepancies and communicate pending debits to accounting, quality departments and plant management; reconcile debits for accuracy and track debits against claim and part analysis for accuracy.
  • Manage warranty part return process and coordinate retrieval of warranty parts from the field; ensure parts are timely analyzed and establish and lead reviews to address findings from analyses.
  • Report outs as needed for internal and customer consumption; assist in contract review process for establishing warranty terms and conditions; provide past data and lessons learned to assist in disposition of proposed customer warranty terms and conditions.
  • Lead the establishment of technical factors for assigned customer portfolio and continually monitor performance and corrective actions to mitigate liabilities and reduce technical factors; ensure lessons are captured in controlled documents.
  • Participate in design reviews for all pertinent programs.
Qualifications
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Automotive Engineering.
  • MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Four (4) years of experience as Quality Engineer or Warranty Engineer.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: The required experience must have been in the automotive or auto parts manufacturing industry.
Other
  • Up to 10% domestic and international travel; may telecommute 1-2 days per week.
