Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Process incoming/outgoing calls to agencies, victims, and personnel.
  • Enter, cancel, and modify FCIC/NCIC entries as requested.
  • Conduct computerized searches to ensure validity and integrity of FCIC/NCIC data.
  • Record messages and information from the public and other sources.
  • May train new Warrants Specialists upon hiring.
  • Perform routine office tasks such as reports, typing, filing, faxing, and copying.
  • Maintain regular and prompt attendance and be available for emergencies.

Warrants Specialist Posting Closes August 31 2026 Starting Pay 2070 hourly

General Description

Under general supervision the Warrants Specialist is responsible for the processing of warrants capias and injunctions receiving requests from field units and conducting computerized searches on their behalf This position is also responsible for entering cancelling and modifying entries in the Florida Crime Information Center FCIC and National Crime Information Center NCIC computerized systems ensuring completeness and accuracy The unit must be staffed twenty four 24 hours per day seven 7 days per week to include holidays and times of emergencies

Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from high school or possession of a GED
  • Must meet State of Florida applicant requirements pursuant to FS 401465
  • Must receive FCICNCIC Full Access Certification withing six 6 months of hire date and maintain certification throughout the duration of assignment to the position
Selection Process

The selection process will include a review of each qualified applicants education and experience and a formal interview in accordance with VSO policies and procedures

Background Screening

This position will require an extensive background investigation and drug screening

Processes incoming and outgoing phone calls in a professional manner to outside agencies victims and department personnelAnswers incoming requests from field units with entries into the FCICNCIC systemsConducts appropriate computerized searches in multiple databases to ensure the validity and integrity of FCICNCIC entriesRecords information incoming and outgoing messages obtained via telephone andor other sources computer from the public on the appropriate formsHandles entries of confidential Warrants Capias Injunctions Civil Orders for Arrest into FCICNCIC and the County Clerk Management SystemMay train new Warrants Specialists when hiredPerforms routine office tasks such as preparing reports typing filing faxing and photocopyingMust be able to maintain regular and prompt attendance to include scheduled work hours required training activities and meetings mandatory overtime and during times of emergenciesPerforms other duties as assigned
