Broward County Sheriff's Office is seeking a supervisor to coordinate administrative activities supporting law enforcement personnel in handling agency records, warrants, extraditions, FCIC/NCIC entries and questions, and Uniform Crime Reporting within the Records/Warrants Division.
The role involves supervising staff, scheduling, providing training oversight, and maintaining accountability to agency standards.
Note: Preference will be given to BSO employees.
FCIC / NCIC Terminal Certification must be obtained within six (6) months.
Under administrative direction, the purpose of the position is to supervise and coordinate administrative activities supporting law enforcement personnel regarding agency records, arrest warrants, extraditions, FCIC/NCIC entries / queries, processing of court orders, and Uniform Crime Reporting within the Records/Warrants Division of the Broward Sheriff's Office. Duties include (but are not limited to) supervising both personnel and work processes, scheduling, providing training oversight, ensuring accountability of agency standards, identifying deficiencies and implementing action to resolve them. Incumbents accomplish unit functions through rotating assigned work areas, and participate in cross training to ensure satisfactory performance in all records/warrants functions. Performance is reviewed periodically through conferences, observation, evaluation of tasks completed, and results achieved. Performs related work as directed.

Supervises and coordinates administrative activities to support law enforcement personnel regarding agency records as well as the receipt and processing of various types of court orders.
Ensures process accountability regarding the verification of accuracy and completeness regarding agency records and court order processing.
Supervises the assignment, processing, entry, and storage of all arrest warrants, juvenile arrest orders, and writs of bodily attachment as issued by the Circuit and County Courts.
Authorizes expense vouchers, extradition costs, and modes of transportation.
Oversees operation of unit teletype systems in the entering, modifying, validating, and clearing of wanted/ missing persons, stolen vehicles/property and other system data.
Researches and responds to complex and non-routine issues unable to be resolved by section personnel under charge.
Evaluates personnel performance; provides recommendations concerning hiring, discipline, promotion, and other personnel issues.
Recommends and executes administrative procedures and guidelines that will ensure operational efficiency.
Provides training oversight and ensures employee accountability in the operation of various computer systems, departmental standard operating procedures, and maintenance of required training and certifications.
Assists in the planning and coordination of special projects as directed.
While the following tasks are necessary for the work of the unit, they are not an essential part of the purpose of this position and may also be performed by other unit members.
Performs related duties as directed.
Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in sedentary to light work, but which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (5-10 pounds). May require physical agility and balance for tasks, such as climbing, kneeling, bending, stooping and/or reaching for objects at or above floor level. Tasks may involve extended periods of time at a keyboard or workstation. Work is performed in usual office conditions with rare exposure to disagreeable environmental factors.
