The Reher Center for Immigrant Culture and History is seeking a part-time Visitor Experience Associate in Kingston, NY. This role greets visitors, orients them to the museum, and supports the operation during public hours.

Responsibilities include opening/closing, answering questions, guiding tours, and assisting with programs and memberships. The position requires Friday availability and at least one weekend per month.

• Comfort learning and sharing basic information about Reher Center’s history and mission.
• Experience in museums, cultural orgs, hospitality, retail, education, or customer service is helpful but not required.
• Ability to use basic technology and track visitor information and facilitate donations/memberships.
• Regular Friday and minimum one weekend-per-month availability.

Aufgaben

• Serve as first point of contact, welcoming visitors and introducing the Reher Center.
• Orient visitors to the museum and help navigate bakery and gallery spaces.
• Answer general visitor questions using provided materials.
• Open and close the museum and follow visitor-services procedures.
• Monitor the bakery and gallery to maintain a safe, welcoming environment.
• Track attendance and collect visitor feedback.
• Share information about tours, programs, memberships, and opportunities.
• Maintain visitor materials and replenish supplies as needed.
• Support public programs, events, and other visitor-facing activities.
• Communicate visitor questions and concerns to Education Manager and staff.
• Participate in training related to Reher history, exhibitions, and site procedures.
• Collaborate as part of a small museum team.
• Perform other visitor-experience duties as needed.
