Job summary

Fuse Integration in San Diego, CA is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Designer to join our team onsite. You will implement mechanical systems, create and release drawings, BOMs, and work with Production to support warfighter-focused hardware for airborne, maritime, and ground environments.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of mechanical design experience, solidworks mastery (including eDrawings and MBd), and a pragmatic, self-starting mindset. U.S.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Familiarity with Y14.100 and GD&T Y14.5.
• Expert in SolidWorks including eDrawings and Model Based Definition (MBD).
• Experience with fabrication methods for sheet metal and machined parts with finishing (powder coat, anodize, Alodine, plating).
• Understanding of additive manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of cable routing and enclosure design.

Responsibilities

• Implement mechanical systems, equipment, and packages for programs that meet requirements.
• Support design and development of dynamic tactical communications systems.
• Create, review, and release mechanical drawings and BOMs; generate work instructions.
• Interact with vendors to quote and produce mechanical parts and assemblies.
• Participate in engineering/design reviews and test planning.
