Job summary

Fuse Integration in San Diego, CA is seeking a mid-level Mechanical Designer to develop and refine hardware for warfighter systems. You will collaborate with Electrical, Systems, and Production teams to deliver integrated solutions for airborne, maritime, and ground environments.

The role emphasizes practical design, fast iteration, and on-site work with growth potential in a mission-driven setting. Experience in DoD contexts is valued.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of Mechanical Design experience.
• Familiarity with Y14.100 drawing practices and Y14.5 GD&T.
• Experience with sheet metal and machined parts fabrication.
• Understanding of cable routing in enclosures.
• Experience with additive manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Implement mechanical systems and packages for customer programs.
• Support, design, and develop dynamic tactical communications systems.
• Create and maintain mechanical drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Interact with vendors to quote and produce parts and assemblies.
• Participate in design reviews and testing of new designs.
• Support prototype builds and first articles, and integration with hardware and software.
