Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Waukegan, IL is seeking a full-time Warehouse Associate to support warehouse operations and assist program beneficiaries in their work therapy development.

You will load, unload, price and track donations, maintain clean work areas, and follow safety procedures. Training is provided with opportunities to grow retail and customer service skills while serving the community.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move products to the correct departments
• Price merchandise according to guidelines
• Track production numbers and generate reports
• Maintain organized work areas and a clean environment
• Operate warehouse equipment as trained
• Follow safety protocols and procedures
• Assist donors with donation drop-offs
• Complete donation receipts accurately
• Collect and track donor information
• Process donations including clothing, household items, electronics, furniture, antiques, jewelry and collectibles
• Equipment operation training such as baler, compactor, elevator and other warehouse gear
• Paid training on processing standards and warehouse procedures
• On-the-job coaching and support from warehouse leadership
• Opportunity to build retail and customer service skills

Job Type: Full-time Schedule: 40 hours per week

Hours: 7:30am-4:00pm

This dynamic role combines hands-on warehouse operations with the opportunity to mentor and support program beneficiaries in their work therapy development. You'll help maintain an organized warehouse while making a meaningful impact in people's lives.

What You’ll Do

Warehouse Operations

• Load, unload, and move products to correct departments
• Price merchandise according to guidelines
• Track production numbers and complete reports
• Maintain organized work areas and clean environment
• Operate warehouse equipment as trained
• Follow safety protocols and procedures
• Assist donors with donation drop-offs
• Complete donation receipts accurately

• Process various types of donations including:
• Clothing and accessories
• Household items
• Electronics
• Furniture and antiques
• Jewelry and collectibles

Equipment Operation May be trained to operate:

• Baler
• Compactor
• Elevator
• Other warehouse equipment

Training Provided

• Paid training on processing standards and warehouse procedures
• Ongoing coaching and support from Warehouse leadership
• Opportunity to build retail and customer service skills
