Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a dedicated Warehouse Associate. This full-time role involves hands-on warehouse operations, supporting program beneficiaries in work therapy development, and maintaining an organized facility. Evening/weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

  • Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.
  • Warehouse experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Load, unload, and move products to correct departments.
  • Price merchandise according to guidelines.
  • Track production numbers and complete reports.
  • Maintain organized work areas and clean environment.
  • Operate warehouse equipment as trained.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist donors with donation drop-offs.
  • Complete donation receipts accurately.
  • Collect and track donor information.
  • Process various types of donations including clothing, household items, electronics, furniture and antiques, jewelry and collectibles.

Location: Grand Rapids, MI Pay: $16.00 per hour Job Type: Full-time Schedule: 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled Benefits: Medical, dental, and vision, voluntary life insurance, accrued vacation and sick time, holiday pay, and more.

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. This dynamic role combines hands-on warehouse operations with the opportunity to mentor and support program beneficiaries in their work therapy development. You'll help maintain an organized warehouse while making a meaningful impact in people's lives.

What You’ll Do

Warehouse Operations

  • Load, unload, and move products to correct departments
  • Price merchandise according to guidelines
  • Track production numbers and complete reports
  • Maintain organized work areas and clean environment
  • Operate warehouse equipment as trained
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures
  • Assist donors with donation drop-offs
  • Complete donation receipts accurately
  • Collect and track donor information
  • Process various types of donations including:
  • Clothing and accessories
  • Household items
  • Electronics
  • Furniture and antiques
  • Jewelry and collectibles

Equipment Operation May be trained to operate:

  • Baler
  • Compactor
  • Elevator
  • Other warehouse equipment

Training Provided

  • Paid training on processing standards and warehouse procedures
  • Ongoing coaching and support from Warehouse leadership
