Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Rockford, IL seeks a part-time Warehouse Associate to support warehouse operations, donation processing, and equipment handling. You’ll load, unload, price merchandise, track production numbers, maintain clean work areas, and follow safety procedures in a busy thrift-store environment.

You’ll assist donors, prepare receipts, and gain hands-on training with equipment such as balers and forklifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma preferred.
• Must read, write, and speak English proficiently.
• Warehouse experience beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and move products to correct departments.
• Price merchandise according to guidelines.
• Track production numbers and complete reports.
• Maintain organized work areas and clean environment.
• Operate warehouse equipment as trained.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Assist donors with donation drop-offs.
• Complete donation receipts accurately.
• Collect and track donor information.
• Process donations including clothing, household items, electronics, furniture and antiques.
• May be trained to operate baler, compactor, forklift, elevator, and other warehouse equipment.
• Paid training on processing standards and warehouse procedures.
• Ongoing coaching and support from Warehouse leadership.
• Opportunity to build retail and customer service skills.

Location: Rockford, IL Pay: $15.00 per hour Job Type: Part-time Schedule: 25 hours per week, including mornings, afternoons and holidays as scheduled

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. This dynamic role combines hands‑on warehouse operations with the opportunity to mentor and support program beneficiaries in their work therapy development. You'll help maintain an organized warehouse while making a meaningful impact in people's lives.

What You’ll Do

Warehouse Operations

• Load, unload, and move products to correct departments
