Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Warehouse Worker II to support warehouse operations and donation processing. The role requires moving goods, pricing items, and maintaining an orderly backroom while complying with safety rules.

On‑site training and opportunities to learn retail and customer service skills are provided. Paid training, evenings and weekend scheduling, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision coverage and paid time off are included.

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. This dynamic role combines hands‑on warehouse operations with the opportunity to mentor and support program beneficiaries in their work therapy development. You'll help maintain an organized warehouse while making a meaningful impact in people's lives.

What You’ll Do

Warehouse Operations

• Load, unload, and move products to correct departments
• Price merchandise according to guidelines
• Track production numbers and complete reports
• Maintain organized work areas and clean environment
• Operate warehouse equipment as trained
• Follow safety protocols and procedures

Donation Processing

• Assist donors with donation drop-offs
• Complete donation receipts accurately
• Collect and track donor information
• Process various types of donations including:
• Clothing and accessories
• Household items
• Electronics
• Furniture and antiques
• Jewelry and collectibles

Equipment Operation: May be trained to operate:

• Baler
• Compactor
• Forklift
• Elevator
• Other warehouse equipment

Training Provided

• Paid training on processing standards and warehouse procedures
• Ongoing coaching and support from Warehouse leadership
