Job Description

The Warehouse Supervisor guides and controls warehouse activities to ensure accurate storing and distributing of raw materials and finished goods. Supervises the timely delivery of merchandise in the amount ordered while maintaining the security of the warehouse. Provides a safe working environment through compliance with safety programs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Coordinates the planning and assignment of work, achieving the most efficient use of personnel and equipment.
2. Maintains inventory and helps establish inventory levels based on prior usage and future demand.
3. Receives incoming shipments and packages from a variety of carriers and enters information into tracking system for disbursement.
4. Inspects incoming deliveries for accuracy and quality based on the product order and rejects any undesirable items.
5. Supervises the warehouse and the inventory at all times to ensure security and upkeep.
6. Assists in ordering from site vendors by advising the management team on needs and sometimes contacting vendors directly.
7. Develops and recommends improvements in current warehouse practices to promote efficiency, faster service, and lower costs.
8. Provides training for warehouse employees and may assist with employee selection.
9. Uncrates shipments when required and properly disposes of or stores containers and packaging as appropriate.
10. Note: Job duties may change or new ones may be assigned without formal notice.

Qualifications

• Requires 3-5 years of experience in a shipping/receiving supervisor role.
• Requires basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
• Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be flexible and able to adjust to variable work demands.
• This role may involve physical activities including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing. Uniforms and/or PPE may be required.
