Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and compliance with SOPs and certification requirements.
  • Communicate staffing, performance, inventory, and customer impact to leadership.
  • Support peak periods with coverage adjustments.

Warehouse Supervisor
About This Role

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of an assigned warehouse shift, including order fulfillment, receiving, shipping, inventory control, and warehouse organization. This role provides direct supervision to Warehouse Clerks while remaining actively engaged in hands‑on warehouse operations alongside the team. The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for ensuring productivity, inventory accuracy, safety, and compliance with company policies and standard operating procedures while developing employees and maintaining a high-performing warehouse operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily operations of an assigned warehouse shift to ensure productivity, accuracy, and timely order fulfillment.
  • Lead by example by actively participating in picking, packing, shipping, receiving, inventory handling, and other warehouse activities.
  • Assign daily work, adjust staffing priorities based on operational needs, and monitor workflow throughout the shift.
  • Verify order accuracy, including part numbers, quantities, and shipping methods, prior to shipment.
  • Ensure shipping labels, packing lists, and required documentation are prepared accurately using company systems.
  • Oversee receiving, inspection, stocking, replenishment, and inventory movement activities.
  • Maintain accurate inventory transactions within ERP and warehouse management systems.
  • Lead cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory investigations, and corrective actions for discrepancies.
  • Identify operational issues and implement corrective actions while escalating significant concerns to the Operations Manager when appropriate.
  • Train, coach, and develop Warehouse Clerks on company policies, standard operating procedures, safety requirements, and best practices.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and participate in employee coaching, counseling, and corrective action processes.
  • Provide recommendations regarding staffing, scheduling, employee development, and operational improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, warehouse procedures, and equipment certification requirements.
  • Operate warehouse equipment, including forklifts, pallet jacks, and order pickers, only after receiving company certification, and ensure employees meet certification requirements before operating powered equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
  • Maintain accurate and audit‑ready operational documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with Operations leadership regarding staffing, operational performance, inventory issues, safety concerns, and customer service impacts.
  • Support operational coverage during peak business periods and adjust staffing or workflows as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous warehouse, distribution, shipping, or logistics experience with demonstrated leadership or supervisory responsibilities.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage multiple responsibilities, and make sound operational decisions.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution, or logistics environment.
  • Experience with parcel and freight carriers, including UPS, FedEx, DHL, and LTL freight.
  • Experience leading inventory control activities, cycle counts, and physical inventories.
  • Previous certification or experience operating forklifts or other powered warehouse equipment.
  • Experience implementing or maintaining warehouse standard operating procedures.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with prolonged standing, walking, bending, reaching, climbing, and lifting.
  • Ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds; heavier items require team lifting or mechanical assistance.
  • Ability to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, and other warehouse equipment after company certification.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures, noise levels, and environmental conditions.
  • Ability to travel occasionally to other company locations for meetings, training, or operational support.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules and extended hours as business needs require.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, leadership, vendors, and other departments.
