Job summary

Nebraska Furniture Mart Inc. in Kansas City, KS, is seeking a Shipping Specialist to accurately process returns shipping and ship orders to customers via UPS and Common Carrier. This role operates in our warehouse and coordinates with sales staff, customers, and trucking companies.

Candidates should be detail-oriented, capable of lifting and moving items, and proficient with basic computer systems and Microsoft Office. Night and weekend hours may be required to meet business needs.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1 year shipping, receiving, distribution or NFM warehouse experience required.
• UPS, FedEx and Teklogic experience preferred.
• Ability to lift/push/pull required weights.
• Basic computer skills plus knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) preferred.
• Ability to work night, weekend and/or early morning hours based on business needs.
• Pre-employment screening includes, but isn’t limited to, criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Handle returns shipping and ship orders to customers via UPS and Common Carrier.
• Use NFM’s computer systems to run reports, bay assign transfers, generate documents, track returns, bills of lading, order distribution reports and more.
• Collaborate with sales staff, customers and trucking companies to provide accurate information about products.
• Inspect products for defects, verify counts, weights and measurements.
• Maintain accurate inventory and complete claims information.
• Wrap merchandise properly for safe and secure deliveries.

Pay Range: $18.30 - 22.77 hourly

Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday, 7:00am - 3:30pm

• Handling products so you are safe and the product is damage free
• Accuracy: Utilize NFM’s computer systems to run reports, bay assign transfers, generate documents, track returns, bills of lading, order distribution reports and more
• Collaborate: Work with sales staff, customers and/or trucking companies to provide accurate information pertaining to their products
• Inspect: Examine product for defects, verify counts, weights and measure on items
• Be Precise: Maintain accurate inventory and complete claims information
• Play Your Part: Wrap merchandise properly for safe and secure deliveries
