Job summary

McLane is hiring a Warehouse Selector in New York. You will select products, load trucks, and move items within the warehouse, including freezer areas, using reach trucks and pallet jacks. You’ll verify documents, ensure accuracy, and help keep the warehouse running smoothly.

The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds, reliability, and basic English literacy. We offer 4 ten-hour days, with substantial benefits starting after 60 days and a 401(k) plan after 90 days.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Able to lift and carry 50 pounds or more repeatedly.
• At least 1 year of distribution warehouse experience preferred (reach truck, pallet jack, forklift).
• Ability to read, write and understand English at a level sufficient for job tasks and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Select product and load trucks, moving items between dock and warehouse.
• Work in Dry, Refrigerated, Perishables, Freezer areas as needed.
• McLane provides freezer suits, hats, and gloves.
• Review documents and verify quantity, identity, availability and condition of product.
• Operate reach truck and pallet jack to select, pull, sort and stack product.
• Hand-stack when items are off balance or mislocated.
• Shrink-wrap and label outgoing orders and remove wrap from incoming orders.
• Maintain a clean work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
