Position Overview

As a Selector Trainee, you will work individually selecting full-case grocery, frozen, and/or perishable products from warehouse pick slots using a pallet jack or other equipment. You will either use order sheets or an audio headset. You will then fit the items on a pallet (are you good at Tetris?), plastic wrap the bundles, transport pallets to shipping dock and in some cases, load them onto a trailer for delivering to customers. Compensation & Schedule

• Earn $19.95 per hour, then up to $28.50
• 1st shift starting at 3 am, any combination of days Monday to Saturday
• Sacramento, California

Job Description

You will contribute by:

• Ensuring accuracy of work and adherence to production and safety standards
• Utilizing necessary pick sheet or technology (e.g., voice, scanner) to select product
• Operating double walkie-rider or pallet jack to remove cases of product from storage racks and place on pallets, sticking selection labels to the appropriate cases (not in all cases)
• Moving pallets on an electric pallet jack or walkie-rider until full or order is complete, then transporting pallets to shipping dock for delivery to retail stores
• Using proper wrapping techniques to ensure safety of products and prevent damage, and informing supervisor of any discrepancies
• Writing store number on pallets (not in all cases)
• Using battery hoist and changing batteries as necessary
• Keeping work area clean
• Completing equipment inspection forms
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned

Physical & Work Environment

Physical activities include standing, bending, pulling, lifting (up to 60 lbs.), pivoting, and reaching, often on various surfaces including concrete, tile, and carpet. The environment may include a warehouse with temperatures from 40°F to over 95°F.
