Job summary

Coastal Logistics Group in Suffolk, VA, seeks an Operations Manager to oversee daily warehouse, yard, and production operations. You will drive efficiency, manage staff, and coordinate cross-functional activities to meet customer requirements while upholding safety and quality standards.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to plan labor, allocate resources, and monitor KPIs.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related area.
Minimum 5 years of experience in logistics and warehousing environments.
Experience in leadership roles within warehouse operations.
Strong understanding of cargo yard, warehousing, and transportation logistics.
Ability to lift up to 50–75 pounds and work in indoor/outdoor environments.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute daily operational work schedules and labor plans.
Coordinate transportation for inbound/outbound freight (including OTR and port moves).
Monitor and maintain inventory of supplies and operational materials.
Oversee warehouse equipment usage, maintenance, and allocation.
Lead and develop warehouse teams, manage attendance, and schedule changes.
Collaborate with Sales, HR, and other departments to meet service requirements.
Track operational KPIs and drive cost-saving initiatives.
Ensure safety compliance and incident reporting.
