Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee warehouse, yard and production operations in Suffolk, VA. You will lead a team, plan daily work, coordinate inbound/outbound freight, and manage inventory to ensure safety and efficiency.

Collaboration with Sales, HR and engineering is essential for successful onboarding and new business implementations. The role emphasizes continuous improvement, SOP development, and KPI tracking in a fast-paced environment, with attention to cost control

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related area.
• Minimum 5 years in logistics and warehousing environments.
• Proven leadership in warehouse operations and transportation logistics.
• Strong understanding of cargo yard operations and inventory control.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment with certification preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and leadership to coordinate with teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute daily operational work schedules and labor plans.
• Coordinate inbound/outbound freight and port moves.
• Monitor inventory of supplies and materials.
• Ensure proper usage and maintenance of warehouse equipment.
• Lead warehouse teams; approve timecards and adjust schedules.
• Collaborate with HR on staff development and retention.
• Support quoting, onboarding, and new business implementations with Sales.
• Drive process improvements and maintain SOPs.
• Promote safety and track operational KPIs.
