Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in Round Rock, Texas is seeking a general laborer to support material handling, shipping, and inventory tasks. You will operate a forklift, sort materials, and assist in loading/unloading orders, with attention to safety and efficiency.

The role requires standing long periods, the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and basic tools proficiency. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred and training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in construction and or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders.
• Great organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work in uncontrolled climate environment and in the elements.
• Able to operate hand tools.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Responsibilities

• Sort and place materials and items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
• Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required.
• Perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, pushing, reaching, bending over, climbing, and kneeling.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders in appropriate shipping/holding area.
• Assist in unloading and loading customers.
• Assist in performing inventory on material.
• Assist in filling work/shipping orders.
• Maintain work area and location organized and clean for orderliness at all times.
• Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization
