Job summary

Commercial Metals in Austin, TX seeks a hands-on teammate for a forklift-enabled role. You will move materials, assist in loading/unloading, maintain inventory, and keep work areas orderly and safe.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders.
  • Ability to work in uncontrolled climate environment and in the elements.
  • Great organizational skills, with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, pushing, reaching, bending over, climbing, and kneeling.
  • Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required.
  • Move materials and items from receiving and/or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.
  • Assist in unloading and loading customers.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory.
  • Assist in filling work/shipping orders.
  • Able to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
  • Maintain work area and location organized and clean for orderliness at all times.
  • Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
  • Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization
