Job summary

Commercial Metals Company in San Marcos, TX is seeking a versatile operations associate to support our facilities. You’ll handle hand tools, pick and pack customer orders, and help keep inventory accurate in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll operate a forklift, move materials, and maintain a clean work area while following safety and quality standards. A High School Diploma or GED is preferred, and physical stamina is essential.

Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders.
  • Ability to operate a forklift.
  • Ability to work in uncontrolled climate environment and in the elements.
  • Ability to operate hand tools.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Great organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand tools, such as Power Washer, Grinder, Air Hammer.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets, shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department.
  • Assist in counting of physical inventory.
  • Assist in filling work/shipping orders.
  • Assist in unloading and loading customers.
  • Inspect outgoing material for accuracy.
  • Sort, stack, repair, clean, pack, remove, and dispose of materials as directed.
  • Maintain work area and location organized and clean for orderliness at all times.
  • Move materials and items from receiving and/or storage areas to shipping or other designated areas.
  • Perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, pushing, reaching, bending over, climbing, and kneeling.
  • Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization
