Job summary

Commercial Metals is hiring for a warehouse/forklift role. You will read orders, move materials with a forklift, and assemble customer shipments. You’ll also assist with inventory, loading/unloading, and maintain a clean, safe workspace.

Ideal candidates have forklift experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment. This on-site position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• 1+ year forklift/loader experience.
• Minimum 1 year experience in construction and/or manufacturing environment.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders.
• Customer-service oriented, with great attention to detail while still meeting tight deadlines, great organizational skills, and the ability to easily multi-task.
• Proficient level of computer skills; MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Internet.
• Ability to work in uncontrolled climate environment and in the elements.
• Ability to operate hand tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time.

Responsibilities

• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped.
• Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required.
• Sort and place materials and items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders in appropriate shipping/holding area.
• Inspect outgoing material for accuracy.
• Assist in performing inventory on material.
• Assist in filling work/shipping orders.
• Assist in unloading and loading of material for customers.
• Perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, pushing, reaching, bending over, climbing, and kneeling.
• Maintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed via appropriate computer program.
• Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization.
