Job summary

CMC, a Fortune 500 company, is seeking a warehouse associate in Houston, TX. You will read orders, assemble, ship, and move material, and support inventory control in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include 1+ year forklift experience, ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and strong teamwork and communication. OSHA/EPA safety policies must be followed; overtime may be required.

What You’ll Do

• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, distributed and/or shipped
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place on pallets, shelves, or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department
• Assist in filling work/shipping orders
• Assist in performing inventory on material
• Assist in unloading and loading of material for customers
• Inspect outgoing material for accuracy
• Sort and place materials and items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code
• Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required
• Other duties as assigned in general support of the organization

What You’ll Need

• 1+ year(s) forklift / loader experience
• Ability to work in uncontrolled climate environment and in the elements
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders and steps
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time, stretch, bend and use hands and fingers in repetitive motions
• Ability to multi-task and manage time required
• Ability to communicate with customers, employees, and business leaders
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, and company safety policies, rules, and regulations
• Ability to be flexible, a team player and interact professionally with employees as well as external contacts
• Able to work overtime as business requires

Your Education

• High School Diploma or GED preferred
