Job summary

Commercial Metals LTD is hiring for a hands-on material handling role in Austin, TX. You will sort and stock materials, operate a forklift, assist in shipping and inventory, and support customers and teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

The role emphasizes safety, organization, and the ability to work in varying climates while handling tools and heavy items. Training and advancement are available within the company.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in construction/manufacturing environments.
• Ability to communicate with customers, employees and business leaders.
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multi-task.
• Ability to work in uncontrolled climate and in the elements.
• Able to operate hand tools.
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Sort and place materials on racks or bins by predetermined sequence.
• Operate a forklift to move materials and supplies as required.
• Perform physical activities including pulling, pushing, bending, climbing, kneeling.
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place in shipping/holding area.
• Assist in unloading/loading customers and inventory.
• Maintain organized work area at all times.
• Other duties in general support of the organization.

What You'll Do

• Sort and place materials and items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color or product code
• Operate a forklift to move material and supplies as required
• Perform a wide range of physical activities which include pulling, pushing, reaching, bending over, climbing, and kneeling
• Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders in appropriate shipping/holding area
• Assist in unloading and loading customers
• Assist in performing inventory on materials
• Assist in filling work/shipping orders
• Maintain work area and location organized and clean for orderliness at all times
