Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Ohio seeks an Operations Supervisor to lead teams and coordinate daily shipping and receiving to meet department metrics. You will assign jobs, ensure safety, and drive efficiency across the operation.

You will train staff, identify high potentials for leadership, foster positive relations with employees and unions where applicable, and pursue continuous process improvements to support community-focused service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Supply Chain Management.
• 3+ years of leadership and/or warehouse management experience.
• Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Conflict resolution and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, trains, develops and maintains staffing to meet daily goals.
• Identify high potential team members for development and leadership succession.
• Foster positive relationships with team members and union reps to improve retention.
• Cultivate a positive work environment that values diversity.
• Ensure adherence to policies, procedures and practices.
• Establish and monitor DC scorecard metrics for productivity and efficiency.
• Train and lead teams to meet performance, quality, cost and service goals.
• Safely operate material handling equipment as needed.
• Address team concerns and conduct investigations with HR alignment.
• Monitor performance metrics and provide coaching and retraining.
• Continuously evaluate warehouse processes and suggest improvements.
• Handle administrative duties related to production, shipping and quality.
• This role may include other duties as assigned.
