Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Operations Supervisor in the Midwest to lead teams and build relationships that keep stores well-supplied and communities served. This bench leadership role begins with hands-on training, learning our culture and operations, and progresses to direct leadership responsibilities after training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership and/or warehouse management experience.
• Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Conflict resolution and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, trains, develops and maintains appropriate staffing levels to meet daily operational goals.
• Identify high potential team members within their span of care for development opportunities.
• Foster positive working relationships with team members and Union representatives to promote satisfaction and retention.
• Cultivate a positive and innovative work environment, encouraging and supporting differences.
• Ensure adherence to Meijer policies, procedures and practices.
• Establish and maintain DC Scorecard metrics for productivity and efficiency; use data-based analysis for improvements.
• Train, coach and lead teams to achieve performance, quality, cost and service goals; operate material handling equipment safely.
• Manage team member concerns and lead investigations; coordinate with HR for discipline when needed.
• Monitor performance metrics for direct reports; deliver coaching and retraining as needed.
• Evaluate warehouse processes; propose improvements to leadership.
• Handle administrative duties related to production, shipping and quality performance.
• Role may include other duties as assigned.
