Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking a proven Operations Supervisor to lead a single warehousing site in Carson, CA. You will direct hourly staff to meet customer requirements, supervise cross-docking, loading/unloading, and ensure safe, efficient operations aligned with Penske goals.

Responsibilities include staffing decisions, coaching, performance monitoring, and participation in hiring and customer meetings. Shift is Mon-Fri 7:00 am–3:30 pm with bonus eligibility based on performance and location.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–4 years related functional experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Strong written/oral communication skills and ability to actively listen required.
• Advanced computer skills: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Establish and sustain that supervisors and associates are trained and competent and understand how their work relates to customer objectives.
• Communicate performance standards that are specific and measurable.
• Interview hourly associates and provide recommendations for hire.
• Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance standards and provide coaching and counseling.
• Motivate and engage associates by focusing on team accomplishments and recognition.
• Supervise logistics operations including customer service, freight loading/unloading, dispatch and documentation control.
• Conduct team meetings and evaluate changes to improve productivity.
• Manage overtime and ensure productivity targets are met.
