Job summary

Penske Logistics is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead hourly staff at a single warehousing location. You will oversee loading/unloading, cross-docking, and customer service operations to align with cost objectives and service levels.

Responsibilities include supervising processes, training, scheduling, and safety compliance, with occasional travel for meetings and adjustments. This role emphasizes coaching, performance management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years related functional experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
• Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency.
• Must have ability to connect and build rapport/relationships with associates and external customers at all levels.
• Must have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage through a problem and think and make decisions independently.
• Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.
• Experience with inventory management system preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure execution of daily tasks and activities.
• Supervise most processes directly including workforce and equipment scheduling.
• Make corrective actions and disciplinary decisions up to written warning level.
• Be involved in hiring process and customer meetings as necessary.
• Conduct team meetings and communicate performance standards.
• Evaluate and recommend changes to increase productivity of warehouse operations.
