Job summary

Penske Logistics in Lawrenceville, GA is seeking an Operations Supervisor to lead a team of hourly staff and oversee daily warehouse operations, including loading, cross-docking, and customer service. You will schedule, coach, and discipline as necessary to meet customer goals and cost objectives.

You will participate in hiring, attend customer meetings, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and manage site systems to support productivity while maintaining a strong safety culture.

Qualifications

• 2 - 4 years related functional experience.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Strong written/oral communication skills and the ability to actively listen are required.
• Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint required.
• Must demonstrate ownership & responsibility to run the operation with a sense of urgency.
• Must have ability to connect and build rapport/relationships with associates and external customers at all levels.
• Must have ability to work efficiently with time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage through a problem and think and make decisions independently.
• Ability to drive process improvement and lead change.
• Experience with inventory management system preferred.
• Regular, predictive, full attendance is an essential function of the job.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise supervisors and hourly associates to ensure training, performance standards, and measurable objectives.
• Conduct team meetings and coordinate workforce scheduling to meet customer requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend changes in work methods to increase productivity; assist in training new associates.
• Provide coverage for operational duties when others are on time off.
• Maintain knowledge of site systems to ensure compliance and correct exception resolution.
• Complete records and reports accurately and timely.
