Job summary

GEODIS in the Carlisle area is seeking a warehouse operations professional to coordinate distribution and warehousing in a cross dock environment. You will consult with customers to promote expanded services and plan efficient use of materials, equipment, and staff to support company goals and P&L targets.

The role requires a minimum of 3 years of related experience, strong PC skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), and the ability to interpret safety docs and write routine reports.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and training.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates distribution and warehousing in a cross dock operation.
• Confers with customers and industry representatives to promote improved services.
• Develops plans for efficient use of materials, equipment, and employees.
• Reviews costs and makes changes to maintain profitable operation of divisions.
• Participates in marketing and sales efforts to ensure resources meet company goals and objectives, as well as P&L responsibilities.
• Supervises warehouse positions including Team Leaders and Operations Supervisor.
• For food accounts, report food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
