Job summary

Accurate Personnel LLC is seeking a Cross Dock Supervisor to lead the Cross Dock Department, Shipping/Receiving, and related warehouse operations. You will direct daily tasks, monitor productivity, and ensure safe, efficient freight movements.

You will coach and develop staff, enforce procedures, and collaborate with management to meet quality, service, and cost objectives in a fast-paced distribution environment.

  • High level of computer proficiency; WMS/ERP experience preferred.

Job description

Job Title: Cross Dock Supervisor

Reports To: Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

Job Purpose

To provide frontline leadership and operational support to the Cross Dock Department while ensuring the efficient flow of inbound and outbound freight, maintaining productivity standards, and supporting warehouse operations as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervise associates within the Cross Dock Department, Shipping/Receiving, and related warehouse operations.
  • Assign daily work, monitor productivity, and schedule employee break periods, work hours, and vacations.
  • Conduct employee coaching, training, performance reviews, and corrective actions in accordance with company policies.
  • Support warehouse leadership by enforcing operational procedures, safety standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor inbound and outbound freight activities to ensure timely processing and accurate movement of product.
  • Follow up on customer concerns and operational discrepancies, assisting with issue resolution and maintaining positive client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, and housekeeping standards throughout the cross dock and warehouse areas.
  • Verify adherence to load security and trailer seal policies.
  • Promote a positive work environment through employee engagement, accountability, and team development.
  • Work closely with management and associates to ensure quality, productivity, and service level expectations are consistently achieved.
  • Communicate daily priorities, operational goals, and performance expectations to associates.
  • Assist with labor planning and staffing to support fluctuating business volumes.
  • Maintain flexibility to support business needs and work various shifts as required.
Minimum Requirements
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Self-starter capable of leading daily cross dock operations with minimal supervision.
  • High level of computer proficiency and Warehouse Management System (WMS) experience.
  • Previous warehouse, distribution, transportation, or wholesale industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume distribution environment.
Education and/or Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Some college coursework in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse, distribution center, transportation, or cross dock environment.
  • Experience leading teams in high-volume shipping, receiving, or freight operations preferred.

Computer Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Experience utilizing WMS, ERP, and transportation management systems preferred.
Reasoning Ability

Must be able to effectively interact with all levels of management and employees while demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to lead a diverse workforce in a fast-paced operational environment.
