Job summary

City of Tacoma is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for Tacoma Water to oversee a large, diverse warehouse supporting critical construction, maintenance and repair activities. You’ll ensure materials and equipment are received, stored, tracked and distributed with accurate inventory controls, and maintain a safe, organized operation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with college-level courses in inventory control or related field.
• Five years of increasingly responsible experience in procurement, storing, issuance and inventory control of a wide variety of materials, supplies and equipment including two years in a supervisory or lead capacity.

Responsibilities

• Oversee, coordinate and direct the work of warehouse employees in procurement, storage and disbursement of supplies, materials and equipment; monitor work in progress and assure security of inventory.
• Prepare requisitions for equipment and materials; oversee disposal of scrap materials and surplus.
• Oversee and monitor the maintenance of the computerized inventory control system; manage inventories to assure timely receipt and distribution of materials and stock.
