Job summary

Tacoma Public Utilities is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor for Tacoma Water to oversee a large, diverse warehouse operation supporting essential construction, maintenance, and repair activities.

You will ensure materials and equipment are received, stored, tracked, and distributed with strict inventory controls, while maintaining a safe, well-organized environment. You’ll supervise a small team and coordinate with internal customers and vendors to meet needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma with college-level courses in material and inventory control.
• 5 years of increasingly responsible experience in procurement, storing, issuance and inventory control.
• 2 years of supervisory or lead experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the work of warehouse employees in procurement, storage and distribution of supplies and equipment.
• Maintain computerized inventory control system and ensure timely, cost-effective receipt and distribution of stock.
• Supervise and evaluate two personnel; hire, promote and train staff in safety procedures.
