Job summary

NFI Industries is seeking an Assistant General Manager to shadow an Operations Manager and learn to become an effective General Manager. The training period lasts roughly nine to fifteen months and may be at a Tier One or large multi-client site. Schedule is 1st shift from 7am to 5pm.

You will rotate through Operations Management, Financials, Employee Relations/Development, and Safety to gain hands-on leadership experience within a warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business or related field (or equivalent).
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years experience managing a 100,000+ sq ft warehouse/distribution center with up to $1M in revenue.
• Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (Manhattan preferred).
• MS Office and warehouse/mechanical equipment knowledge.
• Willingness to obtain OSHA, DOT, HAZMAT certifications as needed.

Responsibilities

• Learns how a General Manager leads Managers/Supervisors to ensure operational procedures for shipments, inventory accuracy and product disposition.
• Develops and manages site strategy, assesses deliverables and allocates resources to reduce process problems.
• Forecasts labor needs based on sales data and historical trends; analyzes workload vs. labor hours and equipment.
• Learns to read and prepare a facility P&L and annual budget; audits billing and purchase orders.
• Addresses labor cost allocation to departments to ensure productivity and accurate reporting.
• Coaches and develops staff; participates in performance appraisals and compensation decisions.
• Maintains safety and sanitation schedules aligning with OSHA, FDA, AIB/ASI standards.
