Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor to lead the safe, efficient operation of warehouse, shipping, and receiving activities at our Indianapolis-area facility. You will drive inventory accuracy, coach a team, and oversee SAP-based processes, while partnering with production and procurement to ensure on-time service.

The role emphasizes HACCP compliance, safety, and continuous improvement, supporting production scheduling and purchasing during transition and future-state coverage.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, inventory control, or logistics operations, including people-leadership experience.
• Experience in production scheduling, purchasing, material planning, or SAP-based supply chain processes is considered an asset.
• Strong leadership, coaching, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices; experience in a HACCP-regulated environment is preferred.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple demands and deliver results in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems; SAP experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily warehouse operations, including receiving, loading and unloading trucks, product storage, order packing, and shipping.
• Plan and coordinate labor and workflow to meet daily operational and customer requirements.
• Develop and maintain systems for product handling, storage, receiving, inventory management, and shipping.
• Ensure products are received, stored, picked, and shipped accurately and on time.
• Monitor inbound and outbound shipment issues and communicate risks or service impacts to appropriate stakeholders.
• Perform and oversee regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate inventory variances, complete root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Use SAP to research order history, track inventory movement, and support inventory control activities.
• Supervise, coach, and support direct reports in the performance of their duties.
• Set clear expectations, provide ongoing feedback, and complete performance reviews for direct reports.
• Promote a safe working environment and ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company safety procedures.
• Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency, accuracy, cost, and service.
• Work collaboratively with production, purchasing, transportation, and other functions to resolve operational issues.
• Provide backup coverage for critical production scheduling and purchasing activities as required.
