Job summary
WebstaurantStore is seeking a Maintenance Technician in Baytown, TX to perform preventative maintenance, repair and upkeep of the warehouse and material handling equipment, including conveyors, forklifts, and racking. You will coordinate with external vendors, track maintenance costs, and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in a distribution setting, with forklift certification preferred, and a strong focus on safety, quality and asset uptime in a
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required or equivalent
- Forklift certification preferred but not required
- Strong communication and safety focus required
Responsibilities
- Assist in repair of warehouse equipment such as conveyors and forklifts
- Coordinate with external vendors for repairs and maintenance
- Maintain batteries and charging areas per manufacturer guidelines
- Conduct preventive maintenance and upkeep of racking, dock doors, and levelers
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment following safety protocols
- Log maintenance activities in internal systems and track costs
- Identify repair or replacement needs for key components
- Support daily, weekly, and monthly departmental goals
- Assist in other duties to support overall operation
