Job summary

WOONGJIN, Inc. is seeking an Inventory Controller for our rapid-growth logistics operations. The role focuses on maximizing inventory process performance, ensuring custody and accuracy of inventory, and coordinating regular inventory counts with clients or internally defined procedures.

You will investigate discrepancies and work with vendors to maintain precise records. Requires 3+ years in inventory control within a high-volume 3PL environment and experience with SAP, TMS, and WMS systems.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of inventory control in high-volume 3PL warehouse environment

Responsibilities

• Maximize site inventory processes and system performance for accuracy and custody of inventory
• Plan and coordinate cyclical inventories and daily consolidation of results
• Coordinate general inventory takings per contract or internal definitions
• Reconcile theoretical balances with client
• Investigate and correct inventory differences
• Coordinate movements, transactions and daily closings
• Maintain monetary control of inventory differences per contract
• Provide customer service and support
• Handle vendor relations and issue Purchase Orders
• Investigate shrinkage and advise manager

Job Description

• Maximize the performance of the site inventory processes and system to ensure: Care, custody, and control of customer inventory; Accuracy (to floor and customer book); Proper utilization of information technology


• Carry out the planning, coordination and control of taking cyclical inventories according to the procedure established internally and/or with the client and daily consolidate the results


• Carry out the planning, coordination and control of general inventory takings as contractually agreed with customers and/or defined internally


• Reconcile theoretical balances together with the client


• Investigate, document and correct the causes of inventory differences


• Coordinate and control movements, inventory transactions and daily closings


• Keeps monetary control of inventory differences against what was contractually agreed with the client


• Provide customer service and support.


• Other responsibilities assigned by the Site Manager


• Working directly with vendors, issuing Purchase Orders, and ensuring accuracy


• Investigate any/all shrinkage of inventory and advise departmental manager

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, High school GED required


• 3+ years of experience in inventory control in a high volume 3PL warehouse environment in the logistics industry


• SAP, TMS and WMS system experience required


• Physical ability to move and lift objects as required.


• Proficient with Outlook, and Microsoft Office applications - PowerPoint, Word, especially Excel with v-lookups and pivot tables


• Excellent presentation, communication, and organizational skills including effective written and verbal communications skills to communicate with various levels of the organization


• Excellent analytical skills and strong prioritization skills


• Excellent problem-solving skills, organizational and multitasking abilities


• Ability to prioritize, ability to shift one’s focus to urgent issues while not falling behind on other duties


• Ability to build trustworthy relationships with vendors/customers, and experience with vendor management


• Extremely strong customer focus with an entrenched “Can-Do” attitude


• Experience / knowledge of freight processes including dispatch and inbound preferred


• Leadership and supervisory experience.


• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.


• Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in inventory tracking.

Physical Demands:

• The position requires the ability to talk and hear while performing the duties of this job.


• The position requires the ability to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms.


• The position requires dexterity to write and use computer keyboard and mouse.


• This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products, materials and supplies, up to 50 pounds.
