Job summary

TIG Distributing Inc. is seeking a Warehouse Lead to oversee daily warehouse operations, blending hands-on work with team guidance to ensure accuracy, safety, and on-time delivery.

You will train staff, coordinate workflows, use WMS and scanners, and drive continuous improvements while maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment on-site in Bedford Park, IL. This role requires 5+ years in a warehouse environment with leadership exposure, and experience with chemicals and drumming.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least 5 years of warehouse, distribution, or production experience with exposure to chemicals and drumming.
• Lead or informal leadership experience preferred.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform core warehouse functions including picking, packing, shipping, receiving, and inventory handling.
• Provide day-to-day direction to team members to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Serve as the primary point of contact on the floor in the absence of a Supervisor.
• Assist with training and onboarding of new employees, as well as ongoing coaching for current staff.
• Monitor workflow and adjust priorities to meet daily production and shipping goals.
• Ensure adherence to safety policies, SOPs, and quality standards.
• Use WMS and handheld scanners to track inventory and order status.
• Support inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, and proper product handling.
• Identify and communicate operational issues, bottlenecks, or inefficiencies to leadership.
• Assist in implementing process improvements to increase productivity and reduce errors.
• Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Check equipment for proper operation and report maintenance needs.
