Job summary

American Electric Power in Pharr, TX is seeking an Inventory/Material Clerk to support the Material Services organization. You will issue materials, receive stock, pack shipments, and operate warehouse equipment following safety rules.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least one year in inventory control, material handling, warehousing, or related experience.
• Basic computer skills and experience with inventory systems such as Maximo; Excel/Word preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and operate material handling equipment safely.
• Valid State driver's license; CDL if required within six months.

Responsibilities

• Issue material with proper authorization and process related records.
• Receive, inspect, and file material; process material receipt records.
• Sort, store, and stock usable material; dispose of scrap as needed.
• Operate warehouse equipment and materials management systems.
• Prepare shipments, packing, and shipping papers; handle hazardous materials per procedures.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and record discrepancies.
• Support supervisor in efficient storage layout and location changes.
• Assist in other duties as needed.
