Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking an entry-level Stores Attendant to assist the Material Services organization with material accountability, storeroom operations, and storage yard duties.

The role involves handling materials, using inventory systems like Maximo, and performing related clerical tasks. Must lift up to 70 pounds, have a valid driver's license, and pass the PAT; CDL required within six months if applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of one year work experience in inventory control, warehousing, or related field.
• Must have basic computer skills and familiarity with inventory software (Maximo). MS Excel and Word experience preferred.
• Ability to perform duties and responsibilities listed above and meet physical requirements.
• Strong knowledge of logistics related to shipping and relocating inventory.
• Basic math skills required.
• Ability to lift up to 70 pounds and pass PAT.
• Must possess a valid State driver license; CDL within six months if required.
• Ability to operate material handling equipment.

Responsibilities

• Issue material under proper authorization and process related records.
• Check received material for quantity and inspect identity, condition.
• Record material returns and stock movements; classify usable vs non-usable material.
• Operate MM system terminals and office equipment.
• Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage, including hazardous materials procedures.
• Operate material handling equipment as required.
• Assist supervisor with storage optimization and bin/rack changes.
