Job summary

American Electric Power invites applications for a Stores Attendant‑B to support the Material Services organization. You will assist with material accountability, operate storerooms and storage yards, and handle shipments and records under supervision.

This entry‑level role emphasizes training and learning, with progression toward independent duties. You must be able to lift up to 70 pounds, use Maximo, Excel, and Word, and hold a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year in inventory control or warehousing.
• Experience with Maximo; proficiency in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Issue material with proper authorization and handle records.
• Inspect received material for quantity and condition; file records.
• Record material returns and manage stock/scrap materials.
• Operate materials management systems and office equipment.
• Prepare and pack material for shipment or storage including hazardous materials.
• Operate material handling equipment as required.
• Assist in maintaining storage efficiency and inventory levels.
• Work under supervision and progress with training.
