Job description

  • • Lead and coordinate daily distribution center operations for safe, efficient, and compliant receipt, storage, processing, and shipment of materials
  • • Provide operational, administrative, and financial oversight for the Redwood Distribution Center
  • • Drive inventory accuracy, optimize material flow, enhance shipping performance, and support cost-effective operations
  • • Promote safety, continuous improvement, accountability, and employee development
  • • Conduct and support safety audits, inspections, investigations, corrective actions, and safety initiatives
  • • Ensure compliance with EHS, Responsible Care, company policies, PPE, hazardous-material handling, fall protection, lockout/tagout, and wheel-chocking requirements
  • • Develop and maintain equipment and facility inspection and preventive maintenance procedures
  • • Coordinate maintenance for lift trucks, trailers, tankers, and other operational equipment
  • • Monitor distribution center performance and operating costs and manage department supply purchases within budget
  • • Oversee receipt, storage, transfer, processing, and shipment of raw materials and finished goods
  • • Manage the Authorization for Returned Goods process and returned, obsolete, and out-of-flow materials
  • • Develop and improve procedures, performance metrics, and process controls to prevent shipment errors
  • • Optimize labor, equipment, storage space, and inventory utilization
  • • Coordinate with Supply Chain and Customer Service to fulfill customer orders accurately and on time
  • • Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, service, and cost reduction
  • • Conduct physical inventories and cycle counts
  • • Lead and develop the Distribution Center team through coaching, training, performance management, and employee engagement
  • • Audit operations for procedural, safety, and housekeeping compliance
  • • Maintain material receipt, transfer, storage, and shipment records
  • • Ensure shipping documentation complies with federal, state, and international hazardous-material transportation regulations
  • • Support environmental objectives, sustainability initiatives, facility layout, workflow, and process improvements
  • • Provide on-call support as needed; primarily work Monday through Friday on a standard day shift
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Experience in warehouse operations, shipping and receiving, distribution center operations, logistics, or supply chain activities preferred
  • Working knowledge of inventory control, material handling, and shipping processes
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with computer systems and warehouse management tools
  • Associate's degree or higher in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred
  • Experience leading teams in a warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environment preferred
  • Knowledge of hazardous material shipping regulations and compliance requirements preferred
  • Continuous improvement experience, including Lean, Six Sigma, or related methodologies preferred
  • Certification and working knowledge of hazardous materials transportation and shipping regulations (DOT, IATA, & IMDG) preferred
  • Ability to lift at least 65 lbs. without assistance
  • Ability to stand while working at least 95% of the day
  • Ability to move throughout the plant at least 25% of the day
  • Ability to walk upstairs or use ladders at some frequency
  • Ability to bend or stoop
  • Visual acuity adequate to read printed sources and computer screens
  • Ability to make decisions, reason, and understand information
