Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Warehouse Equipment Operator for all shifts in Lockbourne, OH. The role centers on safe operation of sit-down/stand-up forklifts and reach trucks to load, unload, store, and ship goods in a fast-paced warehouse supporting AWS Data Center logistics.

You will perform material handling, inventory tasks, and order picking while adhering to safety protocols and quality standards. Weekend shifts may be required.

Job Description

The Warehouse Associate safely operates industrial trucks, including sit-down and stand-up forklifts and reach trucks, to load, unload, transport, and stack goods in a fast-paced warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment. This role focuses on accurate material handling, inventory management, and preparing customer orders for shipping while following strict safety procedures and supporting operations in a 3PL warehouse environment aligned with AWS Data Centers.

Responsibilities
  • Operate sit-down and stand-up forklifts and reach trucks safely to load, unload, transport, and stack goods throughout the warehouse.
  • Perform material handling tasks, including moving pallets, organizing products, and staging materials for production or shipping.
  • Pick and prepare orders accurately according to pick lists and shipping requirements.
  • Conduct pre-operation safety checks and inspections on industrial trucks and equipment to ensure proper functioning.
  • Follow established safety protocols and warehouse procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Assist with inventory activities, including counting, tracking, and updating inventory records as needed.
  • Support general labor tasks in the warehouse such as cleaning work areas, consolidating materials, and maintaining organized storage locations.
  • Work efficiently within a 3PL warehouse environment that supports AWS Data Centers, adhering to operational and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to meet daily productivity and accuracy goals.
  • Prepare goods for shipment by staging, labeling, and ensuring loads are secure and compliant with shipping guidelines.
  • Successfully complete a forklift test during the first 1–2 days to demonstrate safe and proficient equipment operation.
Essential Skills
  • Proven ability to safely operate industrial trucks, including sit-down forklifts, stand-up forklifts, and reach trucks.
  • Experience working in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Strong material handling skills, including pallet movement and product organization.
  • Order picking experience with attention to accuracy and detail.
  • General labor capabilities such as lifting, moving, and organizing goods as required.
  • Inventory handling experience, including counting and tracking stock.
  • Ability to perform safety checks and basic inspections on forklifts and related equipment.
  • Capability to pass a forklift test within the first 1–2 days of employment.
  • Commitment to following safety procedures and maintaining a safe work environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in a 3PL warehouse environment, particularly supporting data center operations.
  • Familiarity with shipping preparation, including staging, labeling, and securing loads.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a high-volume warehouse setting.
  • Strong reliability and willingness to work assigned shifts, including weekdays and weekends.

Work Environment

This role is based in a busy warehouse environment that supports data center operations, with regular use of sit-down and stand-up forklifts and reach trucks for material handling. Multiple shifts are available Monday through Friday and on weekends, including first shift (approximately 5:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.), second shift (approximately 1:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.), third shift (approximately 9:00 p.m. – 5:30 a.m.), as well as weekend day and night shifts. The facility operates on structured schedules with defined shift differentials, and work involves standing, moving throughout the warehouse, and handling materials and inventory in a fast-paced, safety-focused setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lockbourne, OH.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.75/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
