Job summary

Planes Moving and Storage Company in Columbus, Ohio is seeking a Warehouse Associate to join our operations team. You will load/unload, operate forklifts, manage shipments, and maintain accurate inventory in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Organize stock and merchandise within the warehouse by unboxing and storing goods in designated locations.
• Maintain accurate records of stocked items and shipments in the warehouse management system.
• Verify incoming shipments by comparing invoices to orders and ensure items are in good condition.
• Monitor and report missing or lost inventory to management.
• Pack items for shipping according to company standards to ensure safe delivery.
• Organize shelving, bins, and items according to company standards.
• Maintain and retrieve items from the warehouse for processing and shipping.

The Role:

As a Warehouse Associate, this individual is responsible for loading and unloading materials manually as well as using a forklift (sit down and stand up) and electric pallet jack. They handle incoming and outgoing shipments, ensure products are moved safely and efficiently, and follow all safety protocols during material handling. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Organize stock and merchandise within the warehouse by properly unboxing and storing goods in their designated location
• Maintain accurate records of products that have been stocked and provide management with a precise representation of all goods shipped and received through our warehouse management system.
• Verify all incoming shipments to be accurate by comparing the invoice to the order and ensuring all goods are in excellent condition
• Monitor and report any missing or lost inventory to management.
• Properly pack items to be shipped according to company standards to ensure they arrive in excellent condition.
• Organize and sort items on shelving, bins, and overhangs according to company standards
• Accurately maintain company database, including all stock and warehouse items.
• Reliably retrieve items from within the warehouse to be processed and shipped.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D.
• Experience using a Sit down and stand-up forklift.
• Experience operating a 26-foot Box truck is a plus. Compensation will be based on this experience.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
• Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized warehouse.
• Experience with Warehouse Management systems, (WMS), software.
• Typing and record-keeping skills necessary to provide accurate information for managers and supervisors regarding warehouse inventory
• Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance.
• A customer service mentality is beneficial to ensure a positive customer experience by shipping items to a high standard.
