Job summary

Wilsonart in Dallas is seeking a Warehouse Assistant I to perform warehousing functions, replenish finished goods inventory from manufacturing facilities, fill customer orders, inspect materials, and pack items for shipment. You will read and interpret orders, ensure correct bin placement, report discrepancies, count skids, and assist customers.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and at least 1 year of warehouse experience; physical ability to lift heavy items and operate a lift

Job Description

Warehouse Assistant I

Wilsonart, in Dallas, currently has an opening for a Warehouse Assistant I position. This person will perform warehousing functions to replenish the finished goods inventory with material from the manufacturing facilities. Fill customer orders, inspect material and pack material for shipment as needed in the assigned department/location. Perform other tasks as required.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Receives all material from the manufacturing facilities and vendors


• Checks and places materials in the correct bin


• Checks material against the manifest and reports discrepancies


• Informs supervisor and photographs all defective materials


• Cuts down over-sized laminate to fill pending orders


• Pulls customer orders and packs skids or rolls material for to fill pending orders


• Reads, interprets, processes, and packs orders
  
• Performs total skid count for loads


• Assists the needs of the customer

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• Ability to learn computers sufficient to check inventories


• Ability to learn materials inventoried


• Ability to learn packing techniques


• Ability to learn proper material handling techniques


• Ability to understand and follow directions


• Ability to work independently


• Ability to drive a lift truck


• Ability to read and understand customer orders


• Ability to operate a table saw


• Ability to enter data at an acceptable speed

Minimum Requirements

Relevant warehouse experience

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking/pushing/climbing and lifting material or equipment of heavy weight (>50 lbs) Examples: grounds staff and EMS
