Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Inventory & Materials Operations
- Manage the picking, staging, issuance, and distribution of materials, tools, equipment, and supplies to support field operations and project schedules.
- Receive, inspect, document, and process returned materials in the Sortly inventory management system, ensuring accurate records and proper storage.
- Physically restock, organize, store, label, and track inventory- including special-order and project-specific materials and equipment to maintain accurate stock levels, material availability, and warehouse safety and efficiency.
- Maintain inventory management systems and records, including item updates, audits, reconciliations, and inventory controls to ensure accuracy between physical stock and system records.
- Coordinate with Project Managers, carpenters, and field staff to ensure materials, tools, and supplies are available to support construction schedules and project needs.
- Provide logistical support for field operations, including delivery of materials and transportation of equipment and project debris as needed.
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Utilize bulk purchasing strategies to maintain adequate inventory levels of frequently used construction materials and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Manage the procurement of stock and non-stock materials required for repair and construction projects, ensuring complete material packages are available for timely deployment to job sites.
- Serve as the primary liaison for major supply vendors, developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships to secure competitive pricing, reliable service, and quality materials.
- Coordinate material deliveries with vendors and suppliers and verify incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement practices, supplier performance, and operational efficiency.
Warehouse, Fleet, and Asset Management
- Maintain warehouses, storage, and workspaces to ensure they are organized, safe, and optimized for operational efficiency.
- Oversee fleet operations, including scheduling routine maintenance, repairs, annual inspections, and registration renewals.
- Conduct regular inventory audits and preventive maintenance of tools and equipment; manage asset lifecycles through the timely disposal, sale, or donation of obsolete items.
- Collaborate with Build Team members to identify and procure tools and equipment required for construction and repair activities.
- Engage, coordinate, and supervise volunteers to support warehouse operations, maintenance, and special projects.
Qualifications: Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
- Minimum of two years of experience in a relevant field such as residential construction, warehouse operations, facilities management, inventory control, or maintenance.
- Minimum of two years of experience in purchasing, inventory management, and vendor coordination, with the ability to source materials, negotiate favorable pricing, and ensure purchased goods meet required quality, delivery, and operational standards.
- Working knowledge of residential construction materials, tools, and equipment required; hands-on construction, repair, or maintenance experience preferred.
- Proficiency in the operation and maintenance of power tools, hand tools, construction equipment, and work vehicles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel; experience with inventory management software preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills with the ability to create and maintain schedules and meet deadlines.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- OSHA 30 certification, or the ability to obtain certification within the first three months of employment.

Physical Requirements to Perform Duties:
- Regularly lift and carry 40–80 pounds.
- Climb and work safely on ladders and scaffold up to two stories in height.
- Work in unconditioned environments, including exposure to summer heat and winter cold.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
- Ability to work primarily on site and travel locally as needed.
