Seagate is seeking an Engineering Specialist I - Trainee Technician on the Night/D shift at our Normandale campus. This role supports Wafer Equipment Engineering Services by assisting in maintenance and repair of Photolithography/Plating/Test/Vacuum equipment in a busy fabrication environment.

You will learn preventive maintenance programs, work safely with chemicals, and train with experienced technicians to develop the skills needed for future Equipment Engineering Specialist roles.

• Ability to work with Chemicals following all safety procedures
• Mechanical aptitude including the ability to use common tools to repair equipment
• Self-starter willing to work in small teams to gain skills for maintenance
• Critical thinking to evaluate complex problems and follow documentation

Responsibilities

• Learn how to maintain, troubleshoot and repair Photolithography/Plating/Test/Vacuum equipment in a Wafer fabrication environment
• Understand and maintain preventive maintenance programs and procedures as directed
• Work safely on equipment that requires use of PPE, with chemicals or gases
• Train with and support existing technicians on a wide variety of technical skills
• Expand your career opportunities by gaining the necessary training to perform the job duties of a Wafer Equipment Engineering Specialist
• Work towards the experience necessary to apply for an Equipment Engineering Specialist position, when these positions become available
