Seagate Technology in Bloomington, MN is seeking an Engineering Specialist I - Trainee Technician for the Night/D shift. You will learn to maintain and repair wafer fabrication equipment, participate in preventive maintenance, and train with experienced technicians.

The role emphasizes safety, hands-on skill development, and potential growth into a full Equipment Engineering Specialist position. This is a full-time, night-shift trainee opportunity within the Wafer Equipment Engineering Services

Qualifications

• Proficiency with MS Office tools.
• Currently pursuing an AA technical degree (at least one semester completed).

Responsabilités

• Learn to maintain, troubleshoot and repair Photolithography/Plating/Test/Vacuum equipment in a Wafer fabrication environment.
• Understand and maintain preventive maintenance programs and procedures as directed.
• Work safely on equipment requiring PPE with chemicals or gases.
• Train with and support existing technicians on a wide range of technical skills.
• Expand career opportunities by gaining training to perform duties of a Wafer Equipment Engineering Specialist.
• Work toward the experience to apply for an Equipment Engineering Specialist position when available.

In this role as a part of the Wafer Equipment Engineering Services, you will be working in a team environment. You will interact with a range of team members from technicians, operators, senior engineers and management. You will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and learn from others on the team. About the role - you will:

About you:

• Ambitious to keep growing professionally

• Familiar with Wafer Fab Equipment

• Ability to work with Chemicals following all safety procedures

• Mechanical aptitude including the ability to use common tools to repair equipment

• You need to be a self-starter who is willing to work in small teams to gain the necessary skills to perform all maintenance activities on the equipment

• You will need to have the critical thinking skills to evaluate complex problems and a willingness to follow all available documentation

Your experience includes:

• Currently enrolled and working towards an AA technical degree (at least one semester completed towards the degree).

• Experience with MS Office

• Able to work D shift (weekend nights, Friday to Sunday and every other Thursday from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am)

The estimated base wage range for this position is $19.97 - $28.55/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
