Job summary

Seagate Technology is hiring an Development Off-Shift Engineer - Early Career to support wafer process development in a cleanroom environment at our Normandale campus. The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, data analysis, and collaboration across shifts to deliver reliable processes.

The candidate will gain expertise in deposition, etch, CMP, and lithography while supporting 12-hour off-shift schedules (3/4 or 4/3 weeks). A Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Eng, Electrical Eng, Materials Sci, Chemistry or related field.
• Exposure to semiconductor processes such as lithography, etch, deposition or metrology.
• Familiarity with coding or scripting for data analysis and automation.

Responsibilities

• Support and maintain processes for latest designs during off-shift hours.
• Gain exposure to cleanroom technologies including deposition, etch, CMP, and photolithography.
• Apply problem-solving to address operational issues, optimize wafer flows, and reduce cycle time and scrap.
• Collaborate with engineers and specialists from diverse backgrounds.
• Investigate root causes of process failures, coordinate experiments, and perform data analysis.
• Engage in hands-on troubleshooting on the factory floor.
