Job summary

Seagate Technology is seeking a Wafer Process Engineering Technician for our Normandale campus in Bloomington. You will support UTP production and RD processing in a high-reliability environment, troubleshoot equipment and processes, and coordinate with Process, Sustaining, RD Engineering, Operations, Materials, and Maintenance.

You will work the B-Shift (Mon-Wed and every other Thursday) 6:30 PM–6:30 AM, focusing on wafer flow, GaAs processing, and first-line troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills; able to independently investigate manufacturing issues and make evidence-based decisions.
• Comfortable extracting, filtering, visualizing, and interpreting tool logs, KPIV datasets, wafer, qualification, equipment, and SPC data using Excel and JMP/Minitab.
• Clear written and verbal communication; proficient with Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and Office.
• AA/AAS degree or equivalent technical experience with wafer production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Manage incoming/outgoing UTP production WIP and wafer flow; coordinate across RD Admins, Operations, Engineering, and Materials.
• Perform first-line troubleshooting for UTP processes and equipment; analyze logs and trends to identify causes.
• Review MWE configurations, consumables, and chemical baths; escalate to Maintenance when needed.
• Provide shift passdowns with processing status, alarms, actions taken, and follow-up.
• Train and mentor technicians; support Engineering trials and documentation improvements.
