Job summary

Auburn University Libraries is seeking a Student Assistant for the Innovation & Research Commons Makerspace and VR Space. This role supports faculty, staff, and students by assisting with daily operations and hands-on support in VR and 3D printing activities.

Responsibilities include helping users with VR gear, guiding project work, managing 3D print jobs, and providing basic CAD assistance. The position offers up to 20 hours per week, with daytime hours during library operations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled as a student at Auburn University.
• Provide detailed availability for every weekday during library hours.
• Strong customer service, communication, and teamwork.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy Makerspace.

Responsibilities

• Assist users with VR equipment setup, operation, and troubleshooting.
• Guide users through VR project tools and resources.
• Support intake, setup, and monitoring of 3D printing jobs.
• Provide basic CAD support and design assistance.
• Contribute to Makerspace projects and maintain a safe environment.
• Help with daily operations as needed.
